MAAW FUNDING

The Manitoba Addictions Awareness Week Committee has funds available to support MAAW activities. These funds can be used to assist in planning and hosting local awareness activities. Funds will be provided for expenses related to a local event or activity that meets the goal of increased addictions awareness.

These funds may not be used for salary, staff travel or honorariums for staff or volunteers from the home community who work on the project. As well we ask that cash prizes for activities be avoided, however gift certificates are acceptable.

To access funds please complete a MAAW Funding Application Form and provide details to the MAAW Funding Sub-committee which clearly sets out what the activity is; how the funds will be used and how participants will know that your event is part of Manitoba Addiction Awareness Week. As a reminder, applications with little or no activity details may not be considered.

Also funds may be granted for events that do not occur during the provincially designated “Addictions Awareness Week”. These events can take place at another time however these dates must be clearly stated in the application.

After the activity or event has taken place, MAAW requires reports to be submitted which details the expenses and an evaluation which will help us improve MAAW in the future.
